Where to Find the Mushroom Village Key
From the Mushroom Village Beacon, turn right and travel slightly southeast toward the enemies gathered around a bonfire. Pass through the nearby stone arch to reveal a large hidden statue, then interact with the rope held by the statue to obtain the key. The supplied source calls this item the Chapel Key; it is the key players commonly search for by its Mushroom Village location.
Route from the Mushroom Village Beacon
- Face away from the Mushroom Village Beacon and take the path to the right.
- Continue slightly southeast and cross toward the large bonfire.
- Clear or avoid the witch-like villagers gathered around the fire.
- Find the freestanding stone arch close to the bonfire and cliffside.
- Walk completely through the arch. It changes the surroundings and reveals a large statue holding a rope.
- Interact with the rope to pull the key free.
The statue will not be visible in its usable form until you pass through the arch. If the area appears to contain only the bonfire and enemies, circle back and walk through the opening again rather than searching the ground for a loose pickup.
What the key unlocks
Return to the Mushroom Village Beacon and take the path to the left. This route leads past Grisha Hunters and a caged Grisha Pup. The locked tower door behind the cage opens with the key and leads into the Shrine of Trials.
The nearby cage uses a different key. Do not spend time searching the hidden statue for the Cage Key; see the separate Cage Key and Grisha Pup Guide for that interaction.
Shrine of Trials solution
First room: walk backward from the king
The statue's clue tells you to gaze upon the king and pass “back and back.” Face the king statue, keep the camera and character oriented toward it, and walk backward. The illusory wall behind you disappears as you move through it.
Second room: move both pedestals onto the plates
Strike the two stone pedestals until each one rests squarely on a pressure plate. Both plates must remain weighted to open the route into the final room. Use controlled attacks so a pedestal does not slide past its plate.
Final room: defeat the Spear Knight
The last room contains a Spear Knight. Defeat it to claim the Axe and Dagger weapon and finish the Shrine of Trials route.
