Availability
Tiel was the named discoverable Shell in the Open Beta and is part of the full game's eight-Shell collectible roster. Beta progress did not carry into the full release.
First known appearance
Officially featured in the Mortal Shell II Open Beta and the official gameplay reveal.
Combat style
Mobility and stealth. Tiel rewards last-moment dodges, short windows of invisibility, and aggressive Shadow Strike follow-ups rather than trading hits.
Location
In Fainweald, Tiel's half-buried remains are in a fenced grave site southeast of the Widow's Overlook Beacon.
Acquisition
Travel downhill southeast from Widow's Overlook, pass the large tree and enter the torch-lit wooden opening. Interact with the grave, complete Tiel's first memory, and accept the Shell switch to unlock him permanently.

Tiel's unlock sequence includes his first memory. Public sources do not yet support a broader biography, so this entry does not speculate beyond that recovered memory.
Abilities
- Lingering Shadow makes Tiel briefly undetectable and prepares a high-damage dagger Shadow Strike from a light attack.
- Shadow Dash rewards a dodge performed just before impact with Shadow and additional stagger pressure.

- Treat invisibility as a short offensive window: create Shadow, reposition, then spend it on Shadow Strike.
